While the medical expense support will be ongoing until the end of February 2017, ABB Social Day was hosted by the Company on January 19th 2017 aiming at bringing a little warm pleasure to patients and their families on the Lunar New Year occasion with the engagement of many ABB staff. At the event, ABB specially presented more than one hundred Tet gifts and 500 meal coupons to patients. At the same time, understanding the lack of equipment on daily operation of the Intensive External Medicines Department, ABB also supported two electrical injectors to the department. On behalf of NHP, Mr. Trinh Ngoc Hai - Head of hospital's Social Affairs Department highly appreciated ABB support. He commented that ABB's support has been very meaningful, helping to facilitate the treatment process while giving the patient and their families strong encouragement and care.
Participating the Social Day, Mr. William Ng, CFO of ABB at the South East Asia region shared "to become a good company, other than generating profit for the shareholders, it is more essential to show the corporate responsibility to the local community".
Besides annual charitable program, ABB also awards JDF scholarships to outstanding engineering students with financial difficulties every year. Apart from the Training Center established at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology since 2010, ABB's recent investments in leading engineering universities of Vietnam have brought very practical real-life work processes and experiences into learning environments.
