ABB in Thailand

ABB is a global technology leader in electrification, motion, and process automation, supported by more than 140 years of innovation and a workforce of around 110,000 employees worldwide.

ABB’s relationship with Thailand began in 1913, when the first motor was delivered to Siam Cement—marking over a century of contribution to the country’s industrial growth. ASEA and BBC later established operations in 1978 and 1982, and merged to form ABB Thailand in 1988.

Today, ABB’s head office is in Bangkok, with a key manufacturing base in the Bangpoo Industrial Estate, producing medium- and low-voltage switchgear for domestic and export markets. To support nationwide customers, ABB operates the Rayong Business Center, service branches in Laem Chabang, Saraburi, Prachinburi, and Khon Kaen, along with a Robotic Application Center in Samut Prakan.

For more than four decades, ABB has partnered with Thailand’s utilities, industries, transportation, and infrastructure sectors to support national development. ABB delivers end‑to‑end solutions in electrification, automation, motors and drives, and digital technologies that help customers improve energy efficiency, reliability, and move toward low‑carbon and Industry 4.0 transformation.

With a strong team of local engineers and specialists, ABB continues to invest in talent development, service capabilities, and digital tools to support customers across Thailand.
