During the trip, he took time to meet up with management board of ABB in Vietnam, review business and operation and visit ABB transformer factories in Hanoi and high voltage and medium voltage factories in Bac Ninh.
In the business and operation of ABB in Vietnam presentation, he stressed the necessity to increase and improve our efficiency, quality and interaction between the divisions in reaching common targets in line with ABB Strategy in today's competitive market. This is important both for domestic and export markets where the customers are willing to get more and a more a solution, but not a single product.
Apart from that, a strong emphasis was made on Service as a growing opportunity for our business as ABB has already built up a substantial installed base in Vietnam and this base grows with every year. We need to intensify our efforts on the Service market, providing more value to the customers maintaining the highest safety standard in the industry, where ABB is a clear trend-setter.
He really appraised the factories facilities, production lines and manpower here, especially Health and Safety areas after the factories visit and employee talks and also recognised the significant developments in ABB in Vietnam recently.
He was impressed at the strict Health and Safety procedures in our factories. In a trial in the Test Lab, he tested several personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and helmets. He shared some experienced stories about these small protection items but very important in ABB factories' safety procedure. He also raised many detailed questions to staffs there about their daily work and satisfied in terms of the process, technology as well as standards of the equipment and machines at all levels.
Moreover, office and meeting rooms in the factories are also interesting to Mr. Bernhard with several images and charts about workshop target and actual work, safety messages and several mistake illustration for employees easily understanding and following, which reminded him many memories and experience in his working time in ABB.
One strong recommendation for Bacninh factories is "being a component supplier with interrupters and spacers to the Gas insulated switch gear (GIS) and Generator circuit breakers (GCB) factories with, our factories in Bac Ninh shall further concentrate on increasing their efficiency, quality and competitiveness thus making ABB more efficient and competitive as a whole".
After his visit, he shared his good impression on what ABB in Vietnam have made in recent years and wished us continue our effort on business and operation. He hopes seeing a more grown ABB in Vietnam in his coming visit in the near future.
