- In the new episode of ABB Decoded, ABB Review chief editor Andreas Moglestue highlights the publication’s 900th edition
- Long time editor Moglestue shares aspects of the journal's past and discusses what will come in the future
The latest episode of ABB’s technology-focused podcast ABB Decoded features Andreas Moglestue, ABB Review chief editor, highlighting the ABB Review’s 900th edition, and how it is one of the longest-running corporate journals.
As Moglestue explains in the podcast: “ABB Review is a research and technical journal that showcases for the benefit of ABB’s customers, what ABB does, in terms of the results we produce, in terms of the research we do and also in terms of what are we getting back for the $1 billion we are investing every year in research and development.”
Continuing the topic of research, he adds, “ABB Review and research go hand in glove. It is only by committing to R&D that we commit to future generations of products and demonstrate that as a technology company, we are here to stay.”
Moglestue discusses that a look back over the history of the publication shows how ABB developed as a company, as well as how the way of communication and presenting the company has changed.
The chief editor also discusses how the journal has evolved from initially being distributed to sales representatives to inform them about new products to now having a global readership of almost 40,000 people interested in technology, published in English, German and Chinese, on a quarterly basis. “Today we still try to remain true to the scientific and engineering roots of the journal, but in a way that is more accessible. We are addressing the same type of readers who might read Scientific American, people who are not necessarily seeking to follow every subtlety of the mathematic proofs but are fascinated by science and technology and want to understand it better.”
