Standard Symphony Plus Servers

Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10 LTSC 2016

In this section, it’s possible to find all the servers that can support the following Operating System: Windows Server 2016.

The machines are grouped in four tabs accordingly to their physical features and configurations:

  • VALUE RACK
  • MAINSTREAM RACK
  • VM HOST
  • MAINSTREAM TOWER

Finally, for each tab there are machines chosen between two different suppliers.

To be used for running small - medium systems.

These models can be installed in an 800 mm cabinet without Cable Management Arm.

  • Ready for small systems with a maximum range of tags within 5,000 - 10,000
  • Suitable for Turbine applications
  • PowerEdge R340XL fully supports double or triple RAID 1 configurations
  • HPE ProLiant DL20 Gen10 does not support Triple RAID 1 configuration but RAID 5 (e.g. with three virtual disks) and/or by limiting the number of databases to be historicized.

To be used in medium and large systems with high performance expectations.

  • Models support many RAID configurations
  • Triple RAID 1 is selectable for Historian installation
  • Mainstream rack servers are suitable for all system sizes and applications
  • Ready for S+ Operations & S+ Engineering or Standalone profiles

To be used when extra disk space is needed (e.g. when hosting node function is storing historical data) or as virtual server it can host also another Windows license more suitable for virtualization.

  • Models support only RAID 5 configuration or unconfigured RAID
  • VM Host rack servers are suitable for all system sizes and applications
  • Ready for S+ Operations & S+ Engineering or Standalone profiles
  • These models are typically used for virtualization so they are mainly sold without any OS (only for Dell PowerEdge R640XL there is also the option of keeping the embedded OS)

To be used as the workload of Mainstream Rack servers (medium-large systems) but for tower systems.

  • Models support the same RAID configurations as the rack mainstream stations
  • Mainstream Tower servers are suitable for all system sizes and applications
  • Ready for S+ Operations & S+ Engineering or Standalone profiles
