The ABB Brno Testing Laboratory has a long history dating back to 1901, when the first record of its existence appears.
The laboratory assumed its current form in 2007, when four test rooms were established as part of a modernization project. In response to increasing demands and the expanding portfolio of tested products, the ABB Brno Testing Laboratory was further expanded between 2017 and 2023 with three additional test rooms. All facilities are equipped with safety systems meeting ABB’s highest standards for occupational safety in laboratories.
The ABB Brno Testing Laboratory has been accredited in accordance with ČSN EN ISO/IEC 17025 since 2015.
The laboratory plays a key role in product development by providing both development and type testing.
The laboratory primarily focuses on testing products manufactured at ABB Brno, such as medium-voltage instrument transformers and sensors, medium-voltage air-insulated switchgear, medium-voltage gas-insulated switchgear, as well as low-voltage switchgear. In addition, available laboratory capacity can be offered to external customers.
If required, we provide third-party inspection services, either through on-site presence during testing or via remote supervision.
