ABB accorded new ISO 9001:2015 certification in Malaysia

Oct 9: ABB Malaysia Sdn Bhd has successfully completed its International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 upgrade audit and is among the first companies to be certified ahead of the mandatory deadline in September 2018.

The certification was accorded by SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd, Malaysia’s leading certification, inspection and testing body, and covers the following scope:

1. Electrification Products - sales, project management, design, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, installation, testing and commissioning, training, repair and servicing
2. Power Grids and Industrial Automation - sales, project management, design, engineering, assembly, installation, system integration, testing and commissioning, training, repair and servicing
3. Robotics and Motion - sales, project management, installation, testing and commissioning, training, repair and servicing

A three-day rigorous audit exercise was carried out recently to validate the conformance of ABB’s quality management systems in Malaysia with the new ISO requirements and certify that continual improvement strategies are being implemented. ABB passed the audit with one minor non-conformance report and one opportunity for improvement.

“The certification underscores our commitment to deploy a robust quality management system to continually raise the bar and serve our customers better,” said Jukka Poutanen, Managing Director, ABB Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

A successful business consists of passionate people, satisfied customers, products that are assured with good quality, and work processes that sharpen our execution. “We strive to become the best in all these areas by working together to reach a common goal - to write the future, together,” he concluded.
