One of our experts will contact you immediate and provide support.

How to collect the installation log files

Installation fails on Windows 7 SP1 caused by not installing .Net 4.6.2

During the installation of the FIM software on a fresh Windows7 SP1 64bit PC the installation of the Microsoft .Net 4.6.2 environment might fail.
This issue occurs when a certificate is missing during operating in an environment that’s disconnected from the Internet or that has a firewall that blocks content from the responsible windows update web site.
This behavior is due to recent changes to Microsoft Windows Enforcement of Authenticode Code Signing and Timestamping.

In order to resolve this issue, please try the below steps:

Unexpected error message during tool startup on Windows 7

On Windows 7 64bit operating system the MS patch KB2999226-x64 is required to run the Field Information Manager software. Unfortunately the patch might not be installed during the general Windows updates. Therefore please navigate to the following web page and install the patch manually.

FIM doesn´t work after (un-)installation of ABB Asset Vision Basic

The (un-)installation of Asset Vision on FIM node might cause an error of the HART driver and HART CommDTM driver. This effects that the FIM can´t connect to HART devices anymore. To repair this issue, it is mandatory to launch the “DTMSetupLauncher.exe” in the installation folder of the Asset Vision Basic tool. The DTMSetupLauncher provides a wizard to install the missing or defect drivers. If the drivers are missing, only “install” is possible, if the drivers are broken, “repair” is to choose. After the driver installation a restart of the node is necessary.
