A 130 meters long and 25 meters beam vessel, with accommodation for 130 people, the SX121 is a high capacity flexible pipelay/subsea construction vessel for harsh conditions. Built by Ulstein Verft and delivered in 2014.

It is equipped with one crane that can lift 250 tons and has two separate engine rooms to provide high operational reliability.

ABB supplied an advanced and complete diesel electric system package, comprising transformers, frequency converters and motors to provide reliable and fuel efficient propulsion.

Health, safety and the environment have been a key focus in the design of the vessel and ABB’s scope of supply reflects this through its advanced solutions.
