RET615 is a dedicated transformer protection and control relay for two-winding power transformers, unit and step-up transformers, including power generator-transformer blocks in utility and industry power distribution systems. RET615 offers eight standard configurations to match applied transformer neutral earthing principles with either high impedance or numerical low impedance restricted earth-fault protection schemes. CT ratio differences and phase shifts of all commonly employed power transformer vector groups are numerically compensated for. RET615 features also local or remote control of the transformer HV side circuit breaker.
RET615 features genuine support for the IEC 61850 standard for communication in substations, including IEC 61850-9-2 LE, and also for Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP) and High-availability Seamless Redundancy (HSR) protocols. This relay also supports DNP3, IEC 60870-5-103 and Modbus® protocols. The Profibus DPV1 protocol is supported by using of protocol adapter SPA-ZC 302.
For a redundant Ethernet solution RET615 offers an optional communication module providing Ethernet network interfaces. The redundant Ethernet solution can be built on the Ethernet based IEC 61850, Modbus® and DNP3 protocols.
The implementation of the IEC 61850 standard in RET615 covers both vertical and horizontal communication, including GOOSE messaging with binary and analog signals and parameter setting according to IEC 61850-8-1. RED615 also supports process bus with sampled values of analog phase voltages. With this functionality the galvanic interpanel wiring can be replaced with Ethernet communication. The measured values are transferred as sampled values using the IEC 61850-9-2LE protocol.
