ABB provides electric drive and control system for the Kiruna electric mining haulage trucks EMT35 and EMT50. The original design from the mid 80's with DC drives was designed and manufactured by ABB- or ASEA, as it was then. Today's generation with AC drives is produced by Atlas Copco. These trucks have a cumulative operating time exceeding 100 years' production in underground mines. It is a well proven system with large installations in mines on three continents.
Kiruna electric mining haulage trucks have minimal exhaust fumes, low noise level and low heat generation. They are realiable, easy to maintain, and cost-efficient to operate.
