Our environmental objectives

Our commitments

  • Help customers reduce their annual CO2 emissions by 100+ megatons by 2030 - equivalent to yearly emissions of 30 million combustion cars. For example, our variable speed drives for electric motors can reduce electricity consumption by up to 25%.
  • By 2030, our circularity approach will apply to at least 80% of ABB products. 
  • Our zero-waste policy applies to our operations wherever it is compatible with local conditions and regulations. Today, nearly 40% of our sites stopped sending waste to landfills.

Determined to reduce its own carbon emissions, ABB joined 3 initiatives led by the international non-profit organization Climate Group, aligning with its action plan and focus areas:

  • EV 100: ABB commits to electrifying its fleet of 10,000+ vehicle by 2030.
  • RE 100: ABB commits to sourcing 100% renewable electricity until 2030.
  • EP 100: ABB commits to establishing energy efficiency targets and continues to deploy energy management systems at every sites.
