ABB Microunion Traction Equipment Ltd locates in Guangzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone. The JV was set up by ABB Group in 2010 and mainly focuses on R&D and manufacturing of traction system for railway vehicles.
Supported by ABB’s leading-edge technology and solid experience in railway industry, ABB Microunion Traction Equipment Ltd is committed to provide high-quality and energy-efficient traction system solutions to Chinese customers. The company’s business scope includes product design & manufacturing, technical consultancy, project management, testing, commissioning, after-sales service and spare parts supply. The key products are traction converter, auxiliary converter and traction motor, which are widely used in various vehicle types including metro, light rail, tramcar, electric and diesel multiple unites, locomotives and so on.
The company’s quality system has been certified according to ISO9001:2008, EN15085 and IRIS; and EHS system certified by ISO14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007.
As a remarkable milestone of ABB’s R&D localization strategy, in 2014 ABB China set up its first Railway System R&D Center at ABB Microunion Traction Equipment Ltd. The R&D center focuses on design and development of traction system solutions, component selection, testing and qualification, localization projects of traction converters and development of TCMS software.
ABB proactively participate in urban mass transit projects of China. We have provided traction system or products for Changchun Light Rail Phase 1 project, Nanjing Metro Line 1 South Extension Line project, Shenzhen Metro Longhua Line project, Guangzhou Metro Line 9 project, etc. ABB also cooperate with major car manufactures in China and have provided innovative traction system for the AC-propulsion-based diesel locomotive export project by CRC Qishuyan to Australia, and also for the 100% low-floor modern tramcar project by CRC Tangshan to Turkey.
