MODBUS TCP and RTU
MODBUS TCP for System 800xA enables collaboration and communication to allow shared views of all equipment.
MODBUS TCP now brings MODBUS communication protocol into the Ethernet environment, improving data communication rates from the serial bus of 31.25 Kbits/sec to normal Ethernet speeds of 10/100 Mbits/sec or faster. MODBUS TCP will greatly enhance peer-to-peer communication applications where MODBUS is a common protocol.
MODBUS SERIAL provides a way to connect to various industrial electronic devices such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motor controllers, and remote terminal units (RTUs).
Many of the data types are named from its use in driving relays: a single-bit physical output is called a coil, and a single-bit physical input is called a discrete input or a contact.
