Just because there is nobody physically present in your small data center does not mean there is nobody keeping an eye on things for you. DCA Edge is an easy-to-deploy system that provides a full, standalone monitoring solution in your small, modular or edge data center. It can also plug into an ABB Ability Data Center Automation system for centralized, network- wide system visibility.

This information can be read in via Ethernet, Serial or hard-wired analog and digital points. Protocols supported include - but are not limited to - Modbus, BACnet and SNMP. This data can be viewed on the built-in display, mounted in or outside the data center. It can also be viewed over your corporate network in any fixed or mobile browser with suitable access. 

DCA Edge also contains a full-function ABB AC500 PLC, so programming logic and control directly into the product is a snap.

Central Monitoring

For a fully consolidated view, install an ABB Ability Data Center Automation system in your Network Operations Center (NOC) or central monitoring location. Information from your DCA Edge systems can be collected and managed for comprehensive insight and management. With a full Data Center Automation system in place, you can: 

  • Build dashboards showing the status of your entire data center portfolio, in real time.
  • Manage alarms and quickly determine root cause of issues using the sophisticated alarm management features
  • Generate emails and/or text messages when problems occur
  • Store all collected data in a historian for long-term reporting and analysis
  • Generate reports using advanced reporting tools 
  • Interface to your DCIM system to provide real, measured power and cooling information, for IT Asset management.

Cloud Connectivity

If you want to connect your DCA Edge directly to the cloud, you can do that as well. Simply order your DCA Edge panel with the optional ABB Ability™ Edgenius interface and you can connect directly to your ABB Ability Cloud Dashboard environment.
