About the metropolitan region
Currently we employ about 147,000 people, 10,770 of which work in Germany – an important market and production site for ABB. This is why we operate at almost 40 locations, nearly 20 of which are manufacturing facilities. Both our corporate culture and our success are greatly shaped and influenced by our employees. Therefore, we are constantly looking for talented people who are committed to build the technologies of tomorrow.

Our headquarters is located in Mannheim; about half our workforce is based in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. But we also have many attractive locations in the Rhine-Main region, in North Rhine-Westphalia as well as in northern, eastern and southern Germany; get an overview on the map to the right.
Locations in Germany
About half of our employees work at one of our three sites in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region: Mannheim, Heidelberg and Ladenburg.

The city of Mannheim has been the German headquarters since the company's founding in 1900. In addition to the management board and the staff functions, it is the main workplace of our employees in engineering, sales and service of our divisions power products, power systems and automation technology.

The nearby Heidelberg is a modern production and distribution site for low voltage and automation products as well as the home of our regional ABB Training Center, the ATC. It gives our apprentices and students the opportunity to combine formal learning and practical training in a very effective way.

Ladenburg is home to one of our seven coporate research centers worldwide; also, the business unit motors and drives as well as the ABB property management are located there.
The Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region is one of the most important locations for both industry and science in Germany. The convenient location – between the Rhine-Main region and Stuttgart – as well as good travel connections by plane, train and car in all directions make for an attractive workplace.
