Buildings are responsible for over 30% of global energy consumption and around 40% of the world’s CO₂ emissions*. 

As the world’s demand for electricity grows, ABB develops solutions and partnerships to create flexible, future-forward complete solutions like energy management and EV charging.

Meet ABB in the brand-new "Road to Zero" zone, dedicated to actors working to accelerate the transformation of the real estate sector towards a more sustainable model.

This new 400m2 space will combine exhibitions, networking events, and conferences, focusing on practical solutions that help decarbonize the sector.

"Road to Zero" will bring together all stakeholders committed to this process: investors, developers, builders, architects, as well as all providers of innovative solutions.

Through partnership and collaboration, it’s possible to leverage cutting-edge technology and innovations that enhance people’s lives and reduce their reliance on precious planetary resources.

Currently, around 37% of the world’s CO₂ emissions come from transport*.

To commit to emission free employee commuting, Smart buildings need to deliver charging infrastructures at destination that is suitable for retrofitting into the current parking footprint.

Although most EV users will want to charge at home, many will not have access to entirely private parking areas in which to do so.

Mipim Awards

Can real estate development contribute to a more sustainable world while serving the economy and its users? 

  

The answer is provided by the winners of the Mipim Awards, which reward projects that best integrate all criteria of excellence and sustainability in modern architecture.

Last year, the Morland project was awarded for its diversity of uses and activities within the same space. 

With 40,000 square meters hosting a mix of shops, residences, offices, youth hostel, swimming pool, and urban agriculture in the heart of Paris.

This former public building has been completely renovated and equipped with ABB Electrification automation solutions. 

They have enabled this location to become a model of exemplarity with electricity consumption 15% below the required thresholds for equivalent surface area.

The site accommodates 199 housing units, including 80 social and 84 intermediate units, 9,150 m² of offices, 11 shops, a youth hostel with 404 beds, a nursery with 63 cribs, a 1,880 m² swimming pool and fitness center, a 540 m² food market, 2,800 m² of urban agriculture, one-third of which is dedicated to phytoremediation, an art gallery (the Atlas), and a 5-star hotel.
