Madrid, May 26, 2016. Niessen presented its latest smart home solutions in the Casa Decor setting in Madrid. In a meeting with the press, executives from ABB explained the characteristics of the Niessen solutions presented in the exhibition, including the voice-activated free@home solution, the Sky switch range, the Hit by Niessen sound system and Welcome, the contemporary line of intercoms and video intercoms.

These products were featured in the area designed by Belén Domecq for Niessen at Casa Decor. The interior designer explained how she achieved a simple integration of domotics in this design space.

During the Casa Decor event, ABB Niessen also organized a trade media breakfast and five customer events, which consist of a presentation on Living Space and a tour of ABB designed area at Casa Decor, which included live product demonstrations of free@home system as well as Welcome’ and ‘Sky’ product ranges. An exquisite dinner with a cooking demonstration by renowned Spanish chef, Jesús Almagro concludes the event.

Voice-activated free@home system

With the free@home system by ABB/Niessen, the entire home can be controlled, either in a conventional manner using wall switches or a panel, or from a smartphone, tablet or computer. This year, ABB/Niessen has taken another step forward by launching a new free@home functionality that controls up to sixty functions using voice activation.

This solution enables controlling the entire range of applications in a typically residential smart home, including lighting, heating and cooling, as well as control of shades and points of entry.

It is especially easy to use. For example, when you arrive at home in the evening, just say "turn on the hall lights", and the lights will come on. Users can also program the system so that it chooses the names of rooms and zones in such a way as to receive a confirmation that an order has been carried out. If, for instance, you say "lower the shades in the living room", you will hear "all shades in the living room have been lowered".

Niessen also features the Hit by Niessen sound system, the first system to adapt to the current way of listening to music and the radio. Based on Bluetooth technology, it connects to mobile devices so that users can listen to music in different rooms.

This new-generation sound system is compatible with streaming platforms such as Spotify, Grooveshark, iTunes and Tuneln.
