Headquarter ABB France

Offices

The new ABB headquarters in France are located in Cergy Pontoise (30 kms from Paris). This newly renovated building is fully equipped with advanced automation systems with centralized monitoring. It not only brings more comfort to its teams, but also assesses the savings generated easily and automatically. With this project, ABB has decided to make its French headquarters site reference in terms of energy efficiency. This "window of expertise ABB" allows us to help our customers discover our technologies in a real situation and demonstrate their many assets. To bring the Cergy site into line with safety standards and the restoration of its buildings ABB took the opportunity to carry out the renovation of the building management system (BMS) and select its low voltage products and the most innovative energy efficiency solutions.

What were the challenges in fulfilling the wishes of the customer?

− Improve the operation of its headquarters from 7000 m² of which 50% offices and 50% of maintenance workshops and platforms testing, storage center, training and showroom
− Renovate the building management system
− Optimize the management of facilities
− Ensure occupant comfort
− Control and reduce energy consumption
− Scalability spaces and respect for the environment

Why was the decision for a KNX solution made?

ABB i-bus KNX offered a proven system for the overall management of several applications, such as overall building management, lighting and HVAC. Therfore, the building is equipped with a building management system (BMS) that ensures the control of the heating, air conditioning,
ventilation, blinds and lighting. Temperature regulators, light sensors, presence and brightness detectors are installed throughout the building, and associated with a time management by the doGate from Newron software.
They automatically adjust the lighting levels, heating, air conditioning and blinds, according brightness, the presence of employees, opening hours and site closure. Office lighting is provided by L’Ebénoïd LED panels and controlled by a KNX management. In addition, for the safety of occupants, the entire site is equipped with 170 blocks of emergency and exit lighting Kaufel connected to the BMS.

Which measures to increase the energy efficiency of the building were intended?

Temperature regulators, light sensors, presence and brightness detectors are installed throughout the building adjusting the lighting levels, heating, air conditioning and blinds, according brightness, the presence of employees, opening hours and site closure.

Which savings are achieved in relation to the previous solution?
