eHouse: Custom designed, tested and transportable primary electrical room with environmental control

ehouse-1

eHouse modules, available for ratings up to 40.5 kV, are an enclosed, custom designed, tested and prefabricated electrical room with environmental control solutions such as HVAC, fire alarm and security systems. ABB’s eHouse modules for primary applications are designed to house medium voltage and low voltage switchgear, critical power equipment and automation cabinets for control of industrial plant equipment.

ABB’s eHouse solutions are:

  • Offsite prefabricated, custom designed and tested ideal for projects where onsite work and installation time needs to be reduced
  • Environmentally controlled (HVAC system, fire alarm and security systems) to enable placement in a wide range of climate conditions
This flexibility and offsite work make ABB’s eHouse modules ideal for primary distribution in applications such as datacenter, oil & gas and chemicals, mining & metals and infrastructure.

FAQ

1. What is an eHouse module?

eHouse modules, available for ratings up to 40.5 kV, are an enclosed, custom designed, tested and prefabricated electrical room with environmental control solutions such as HVAC, fire alarm and security systems. ABB’s eHouse modules are designed to house medium voltage and low voltage switchgear, critical power equipment and automation cabinets for control of industrial plant equipment.

2. How does an eHouse module work?

ABB’s eHouse modules are designed to house medium voltage and low voltage switchgear, critical power equipment and automation cabinets for control of industrial plant equipment.

3. What are the key benefits of ABB’s eHouse modules?

ABB’s eHouse solutions are:

  • Off-site prefabricated, custom designed and tested ideal for projects where onsite work and installation time needs to be reduced
  • Environmentally controlled (HVAC system, fire alarm and security systems) to enable placement in a wide range of climate conditions

4. Are ABB’s eHouse modules easy to operate and maintain

Yes. ABB eHouses are environmentally controlled to provide appropriate conditions for the equipment to operate reliably and also offer fire alarm and security systems. The eHouse provides a safe working area for operators. The ABB medium and low voltage switchgear and other control equipment is robust and designed for efficient maintenance and long life.

5. What’s the difference between ABB’s eHouse modules and Skid modules?

Both ABB’s eHouses and Skid modules integrate medium voltage and low voltage equipment for primary applications. eHouses are transportable, tested and enclosed electrical rooms that provide environmental control with HVAC as well as fire alarm and security systems. Skid modules are open frame modules with integrated medium and low voltage equipment- but, they are not enclosed and do not offer any environmental control, fire or alarm system capability.
