- UniGear Digital is based upon the IEC 61850 digital communication protocol, with most of hardwiring replaced by an Ethernet cable.
- UniGear Digital uses sensors instead of heavy and bulky instrument transformers, therefore less material inside the switchgear is needed.
- Sensor technology has negligible energy consumption/losses compared to current transformers.
E.g. in a substation of 14 feeders, you save energy losses equal to 150 tons of CO2 during 30 years of service. That's the same as emissions produced by mid-sized European car driven for 1.250.000 km.
