Chaired by the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Economic Affairs and themed “Promoting digital transformation and green transition to create breakthroughs, shortening the industrialization and modernization process by 2030 with a vision towards 2045”, the Vietnam Industry 4.0 Summit 2023 focused on smart production, the application of artificial intelligence in industry and green transition, green energy, green finance, and green education. The event gathered government leaders, domestic and foreign experts to discuss about the measures and solutions to boost digital transformation, green transition, and labor transition to improve smart production capacity, to shorten the process of industrialization in Vietnam. Event was also attended by Vietnam’s Prime Minister.
Mr. Hien DoanVan, President, Electrification Distribution Solutions, Smart Power, and Smart Buildings, was invited to speak at the Summit’s workshop titled "Enhancing Intelligent Production Capability and Developing the Digital Technology Industry in accordance with the Make in Vietnam direction“. Mr. Hien DoanVan’s keynote focused on innovative electrification solutions for the new generation of smart production, helping Vietnam manufacturers increase operation efficiency and competitiveness. According to Mr. Hien, manufacturing is changing rapidly all over the world, and smart industry requires smart power. ABB’s solutions meet the need for improved reliability and efficiency across grids, factories, and buildings within the factories while being based on the criteria of safety, security, sustainable development, and financial profitability for its customers.
At the summit, ABB also showcased its latest digital solutions for energy distribution and management to support Vietnam dealing with today's and tomorrow's energy challenges including Smart Substation Control and Protection SSC600 SW - the world first virtualized protection and control solution, and ABB Ability™ Energy and Asset Manager. These two innovative solutions help manufacturers to optimize asset management, reduce cost, save energy and provide a safer environment as factories become more automated, better connected and more digitally optimized than before.
Virtualized and centralized protection and control with SSC600 SW
SSC600 SW is the virtualized version of ABB’s Smart Substation Control and Protection SS600 device - an innovative, centralized approach to protection and control in distribution networks. Centralizing all protection and control functionality in a single, IEC 61850-compliant device on substation level, SSC600 helps reduce network complexity and supports optimal, lifelong asset management for the digital substation and up to 15 percent savings in substation life cycle costs. The virtualized product, SSC600 SW, enables customers to use the hardware of their choice and gain access to same proven protection and control functionality as with ABB’s turnkey solution, SSC600.
ABB Ability™ Energy and Asset Manager
The ABB Ability™ Energy and Asset Manager combines hardware sensors and analytics software for an advanced solution available to facility, energy, and asset managers. The solution is helping companies around the world achieve higher efficiency and profitability by providing insights on energy consumption and performance of multiple systems in their facilities. By providing monitoring and analysis of real-time data on the systems, the solution enables companies to detect potential faults, thereby reducing unplanned downtime, and enhancing safety. ABB AbilityTMEnergy and Asset Manager helps facilities achieve 20 percent savings on energy bills, up to 30 percent reduction in operations costs and up to 40 percent reduction in maintenance costs.
