Enabling simpler inverter designs in traction applications

ABB presented a wide range of innovative rail technologies that bring safety and efficiency to new levels for rolling stock and infrastructure at InnoTrans in Berlin, from September 18-21, 2018, a biennial trade fair that is the world’s largest international platform for transport technology.

The semiconductor team displayed high and medium power IGBTs as well as its IGCT enabling simpler inverter designs in traction applications.

HiPak
30% more current with the new 3300 V / 1800 A enhanced trench and 6500 V / 1000 A enhanced planar cell design IGBTs, providing highest robustness.

LinPak
Innovative open standard, phase-leg modules, that offer exceptionally low stray inductance and flexibility thanks to easy paralleling.

62Pak
The medium power IGBT modules feature an industry standard housing, very low losses and highest operation, temperatures.
