ABB shareholders who are tax-resident in Sweden and holding shares of ABB Ltd registered with Euroclear Sweden have the possibility to receive their dividend in Swedish kronor without deduction of Swiss withholding tax, by participating in the Dividend Access Facility (DAF).
Such shareholders can apply to take part in the Dividend Access Facility (DAF) starting on February 26 through March 12, 2024. Shareholders who participated in ABB’s DAF in 2023 and are tax resident in Sweden will be registered automatically for the DAF in 2024. Non-Swedish citizens and shareholders with multiple citizenships however are required to register again.
Subject to the dividend approval at ABB’s Annual General Meeting on March 21, 2024, the dividend under the DAF is expected to be paid on April 2, 2024.
The dividend will be paid in Swedish kronor through Euroclear Sweden and will be equivalent to the dividend paid by ABB Ltd in Swiss francs, using the CHF/SEK exchange rate determined on March 22, 2024. The dividend will be taxed according to the relevant Swedish tax rules applicable to each person or entity.
