A giant leap in helping smart home residents avoid ‘application overwhelm’ has been made by Samsung Electronics integrating the ABB-free@home® automation App into its SmartThings platform. The number of smart homes worldwide is predicted to increase to 33.2 percent by 20281 and the new world-class ABB-Samsung smart home platform will link and manage switches, dimmers, shutters, blinds, windows, doors, weather stations, climate control, scene support, photovoltaics, Samsung heat pumps and domestic appliances. Linked to the ABB-free@home® platform and its selective devices, the solution for each resident can then be fully individualized.

With ABB-free@home® now deeply embedded into the vast ecosystem of SmartThings, it can interact with all other partner solutions on the platform. ABB-free@home® also enables remote access, management, and control functions for apartment building property managers in the rental and multi-dwelling market. This will enhance innovation opportunities for them with automation, energy management and service systems.
