ABB's Motion Business in Australia has signed a contract with IPD, a leading Australian automation and electrical distributor. IPD will become ABB's national Low Voltage Motors Master Distributor, effective from June 1, 2024.
IPD is a market-leading ASX-listed company with over 71 years of experience in power distribution, energy management, power quality, automation, industrial control, industrial communications, renewables, and safety and hazardous area equipment. The company has a team of highly skilled experts supporting industries including power generation, commercial buildings, food and beverage, water and wastewater distribution and operations, infrastructure, and sports and leisure facilities. IPD has been a valued ABB Channel Partner since 2019.
The Master Distributor agreement will enable improved ABB low voltage motor distribution for new and existing customers, thanks to the increased national stock levels of these products which will be held by IPD in their facilities across the country. This will expedite logistics resulting in an overall better customer experience.
As part of the new arrangement ABB Australia's local motors division will continue to provide support with implementing industry-leading solutions and providing domain expertise.
