ABB awards more than $58K in scholarships to US students

ABB has awarded scholarships, totaling more than $58,000, to 16 U.S. students for the 2024/2025 academic year. This initiative supports the educational aspirations of upcoming professionals whose parents are employed by ABB Motors and Mechanical Inc. (MMI), the U.S. motors and generators business unit of ABB.

The scholarships, valued between $3,000 and $5,000 each, provide financial aid to students pursuing undergraduate, vocational or technical school degrees. The scholarships are funded by the Baldor Foundation, which has provided scholarships for ABB MMI - and previously Baldor Electric and Baldor-Reliance - dependents since 2009. The program is administered by Scholarship Management Services, a division of Scholarship America.

Recipients were selected based on academic achievements, extracurricular involvement and the students’ commitment to community service. Each recipient exhibits exceptional potential and a strong desire to attain higher education to make positive contributions to society.

“This scholarship program is one of the many ways we demonstrate our appreciation to our employees,” said Jesse Henson, president of ABB’s NEMA Motors Division. “Investing in what matters most to them – the future of their children – is a priority for ABB. It is an honor to play a part in helping their children achieve their dreams.”
