Fostering Innovative Collaboration Skills: Cobot Contest Thailand 2024

The global employment landscape is rapidly evolving, with robotics and automated systems playing a crucial role across various sectors. From large manufacturing facilities to retail environments, these technologies are reshaping industries. Recognizing this, it’s essential to equip university students with advanced technological skills to meet labor market demands and drive Thailand’s industrial progress.

Cobot Contest Thailand 2024: A Platform for Excellence

ABB Robotics Thailand participated in the Cobot Contest Thailand 2024, held on July 4-5. The contest was organized by ABB’s partner, USE flo-line Co., Ltd, in collaboration with Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, Khon Kaen Campus. It focused on robot programming, covering both Online and Offline approaches. Teams used the GoFa™ collaborative robot from ABB for the competition.

Forty teams from various Thai educational institutions participated. Each team comprised three members—vocational certificate or undergraduate students—along with one advisor. The competition consisted of three rounds: Qualifying Round 1, Qualifying Round 2, and Championship Round. The top five teams from the qualifying rounds advanced to the Championship Round. In addition to standard rules, special tasks were introduced in the final competition.

Teams benefited from unlimited online training sessions conducted by experts. They also had the opportunity to practice and test with the actual competition kit at the Innovation & Skill Development Center of USE flo-line Co., Ltd.
