“ABB has designed and manufactured our DP200 Crush+ motor to meet or exceed our customers’ needs for energy efficiency and reliability,” said Oscar Palafox, global portfolio product manager, ABB NEMA Motors. “The modular design offers a high level of flexibility for our customers and makes it easy to upgrade or retrofit existing systems in the field or implement future equipment designs and requirements.”

In addition to the many standard design features, Crush+ allows for easy fitment of the ABB Ability Smart Sensor for digital powertrain condition monitoring in hazardous areas. ABB Ability converts traditional motors into smart, wirelessly connected devices, enabling users to monitor the health of their motors and to plan maintenance in advance. Unplanned downtime can be avoided, efficiency optimized and safety improved. The sensor’s enclosure withstands high vibration levels and provides protection from dust and water ingress. The ABB Ability Smart Sensor is certified for ATEX, IECEx and NEC500, making it compliant with the strictest requirements for equipment operating in explosive atmospheres.
