- ABB introduces ADAM to provide complete visibility and easy management of protection and control devices.
- Ensures secure data transmission with encrypted connections, single sign-on, and role-based access controls, safeguarding critical infrastructure.
- Integrates seamlessly with ABB’s SSC600, making it a future-proof and ready solution when Vietnam’s power grid undergo energy transitions.
ABB has introduced ADAM, an innovative, cloud-based platform designed to optimize the monitoring and management of power distribution networks. Built on ABB’s secure cloud and cybersecurity infrastructure, ADAM integrates seamlessly with the SSC600 platform, combining advanced control and monitoring functionalities into a single substation device. This integration enhances grid stability and operational efficiency, addressing growing needs in Vietnam’s ongoing efforts to modernize its energy infrastructure.
ABB has also featured a preview of the forthcoming ADAM AI (Artificial Intelligence) capability for fault analysis and prediction, which represents the next step in power distribution management. Currently, this capability is being developed to provide advanced predictive fault detection and intelligent network management. By providing AI capability utilizing the SSC600 platform, a centralized protection and control device designed to streamline and modernize substation management, ADAM AI capability will allow operators to analyze grid data more effectively, detect anomalies, and implement proactive measures. This advancement significantly boosts grid reliability and aligns with Vietnam’s long-term energy goals.
By integrating advanced technologies like SSC600, ADAM and the upcoming AI capability, ABB aims to support all users in the power sector and large industrial investors in overcoming the challenges of modernizing power distribution networks and integrating renewable energy sources, ultimately enabling greater efficiency and resilience in their operations.
“In Vietnam’s evolving power grid, where modernization and sustainability are crucial, innovation plays a key role in developing solutions that enhance reliability and efficiency. ABB is committed to equipping our partners and customers with the advanced tools needed to drive sustainable growth and ensure a resilient energy future for Vietnam,” said Mr. Doan Van Hien, Vice President of the Electrification Business at ABB in Vietnam.
ADAM was presented at the “Empowering Grids of the Future through Digitalization enabling AI” seminars held in Hanoi on August 20 and in Ho Chi Minh City on August 23. The events brought together key stakeholders from Vietnam’s power companies, industrial investors, consulting companies, and experts from universities, demonstrating ABB’s commitment to advancing the energy transition with innovative solutions evolving with renewable energy.
