ABB’s impact from MSMEs to large industries

ABB’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond large industries to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through its "local-for-local" approach, ensuring that cutting-edge solutions are accessible in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities across India. We saved ~20TWh of electric energy annually from energy efficient motors and drives installed over last 12 years, equivalent to ≈50% of Delhi's annual electricity consumption. With the growing installed base, our contribution to energy savings continues to increase and this underscores the significant impact of ABB’s technology on efficiency and sustainability. Additionally, ABB’s large high efficiency motors running pump and fans in FGD units in Power plants help reduce sulfur dioxide emissions sustainably. By replacing traditional gearbox-driven motors with ABB’s cooling tower direct drive solution, customers have achieved reduced downtime, lower maintenance costs, noise reduction, and significant energy savings. This underscores ABB’s commitment to both environmental and operational sustainability.
