ABB Robotics and SEARI collaborate on China Robot certification

  • ABB Robotics and SEARI sign a strategic collaboration agreement to jointly promote China Robot (CR) certification and drive the high-quality development of the robotics industry

Today, ABB Robotics and the Shanghai Electrical Apparatus Research Institute (SEARI) officially signed a strategic collaboration agreement at the Zhangjiang Robot Valley in Pudong, Shanghai, to work together on CR certification in robotics and automation. This signing marks the beginning of in-depth collaboration between the two parties in robotic product testing and certification, technical standard setting and technology research, with the aim of jointly promoting the high-quality development of robotics industry in China.

The signing ceremony was attended by Wang Lei, Party Committee Member and Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Zhangjiang Group,  Sami Atiya, President of ABB’s Robotics and Discrete Automation, Henry Han, Group Senior Vice President and President of ABB Robotics Division in China and Xu Feng, Head of R&D of ABB Robotics Division in China, Wu Yehua, Chairman of the China Robot Testing and Certification Alliance and Chairman and President of SEARI, Zheng Junqi, Director of Shanghai Robotic Industry Technology Institute, Chai Yi, Executive Vice President of the Shanghai Robot Industrial Technology Research Institute.

Wang Lei, Party Committee Member and Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Zhangjiang Group, delivered an opening speech at the signing ceremony. "As the core vehicle for Shanghai's development as a global science and innovation center, Zhangjiang Robot Valley has always aimed to 'build a world-class robotics industry cluster' and has already established an ecosystem with leading enterprises and innovation platforms. We are delighted to have facilitated this strong partnership between ABB Robotics and SEARI which is a good example of Zhangjiang's efforts to build an innovation system of 'technology origination - industrial synergy - ecosystem empowerment'. In the future, we will continue to coordinate high-quality resources from different channels to provide strong support for Zhangjiang to build a world-class robotics industry cluster. "
