On April 8, ABB Motors & Generators China marked its significant anniversary milestone by hosting a media open day at the Shanghai site, celebrating 30 years of IEC low-voltage motors, and 20 years of large motors and generators manufactured in China. The event brought together public and industry media representatives for an exclusive tour of ABB’s manufacturing sites, showcasing the company’s latest technology innovations, market trends, and its ongoing commitment to innovative and high-efficiency technologies.
With electric motors accounting for approximately 60% of total electricity consumption in China, there is significant potential for energy savings and emissions reduction. As a key supporter of China’s energy transition, ABB is committed to helping customers enhance energy efficiency and lower greenhouse gas emissions through its innovative solutions.
Upgrade high-efficiency motors and generators across industries
ABB introduced the latest product portfolio of high-efficiency motors and generators, designed to meet the evolving demands of industries undergoing the energy transition. This year, ABB has upgraded its China-developed and produced ability, launching the AMZ 1400 permanent magnet shaft generators and IE5 ultra-premium efficiency motors, setting new industry benchmarks in efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.

This year, ABB is taking another leap forward by introducing new ranges of highly efficient IEC LV motors, tailored for the food & beverage, water, HVAC, and chemical, oil and gas industries. These solutions will help keep customer’s operations running smoothly and become more productive, efficient and sustainable so they can outperform."
