ABB Strengthens Strategic Partnership with S&SYS...awarded Authorized Partnership Certification

• Authorized partnership for ABB System Pro E Power

• Training and certification ceremony successfully held at S&SYS Busan plant

• Strategic partnership will strengthen technical excellence and position in the power solutions market

ABB and S&SYS, a shipbuilding equipment supplier, have signed an authorized partnership for the distribution of ABB's low-voltage switchgear solution, System Pro E Power, and successfully held a product training and partnership certification ceremony. This not only strengthens their business collaboration in the shipbuilding and offshore industry, but also aims to expand the coverage in the power systems market by utilizing ABB's innovative technology.

System pro E power is the innovative ABB’s main distribution switchboard solution with rated current up to 6300A and short-circuit current up to 120kA. Designed to easily fulfill all electrical installation requirements in terms of protection degree, segregation form and electrical characteristics, according to the latest international standards and in perfect synergy with all ABB’s low voltage equipment.

S&SYS has successfully completed specialized training in ABB System Pro E Power's Top Busbar Switchgear System, the mandatory IEC61439 standard, and software training to qualify for the official certification partnership.

This athourization enables S&SYS to design, assemble and sell System Pro E Power systems under its own responsibility and using ABB components in conjunction with the planning guidelines, technical documentation and construction manuals provided by ABB. This means that the company will be able to offer more competitive solutions based on ABB's advanced technology in the domestic market.

S&SYS has been stably supplying its own marine switchboards to the shipbuilding market with ABB low-voltage products, and aims to expand its portfolio in the marine market by strategically utilizing ABB solutions.

“Our partnership with S&SYS is an important step in delivering enhanced value to our customers by combining ABB's innovative technologies with SENSYS' outstanding expertise,” said Sang-Hoon Lee, Head of Electrification Business Area, ABB Korea. “We are excited about the synergies we will create to deliver safer and more efficient power system solutions.”

“We have already secured a license for a medium-voltage switchgear model (Unigear) through cooperation with ABB, and with the certification of a low-voltage switchgear model (System Pro E Power), we have completed preparations for the entire lineup of switchgear,” said Jae-hyuk Bae, CEO of S&SYS. “Based on this, we plan to further strengthen our competitiveness not only in the shipbuilding and offshore industry but also in the onshore power system market.”

The collaboration will combine ABB's advanced global technology with S&SYS's expertise in shipbuilding and offshore to further strengthen its technical excellence, presence and competitiveness in the power systems market, both domestically and internationally.
