ABB Brings Smart Tech to T-Mobile Curiosity Lab

ABB partners with the City of Peachtree Corners and T-Mobile to bring our industrial IoT technology to a unique community setting.

We’re proud to share that ABB is partnering with the City of Peachtree Corners and T-Mobile to bring our industrial IoT technology to a unique community setting—the city’s public water feature at Town Center.

Our collaboration is part of Peachtree Corners’ mission to integrate smart technologies into everyday infrastructure. ABB sensors, powered by T-Mobile’s 5G network, will monitor the water feature’s motors in real time, detecting early signs of failure and enabling proactive maintenance. The result? A smoother, more reliable experience for residents and visitors.

This builds on our successful implementation of ABB’s direct distribution power architecture at T-Mobile’s nearby data center. Now, with ABB’s Mobile Connect for Drives, we’re enabling 24/7 remote monitoring and diagnostics in the heart of the city.

“By coupling robust connectivity with sensor technology designed for proactive maintenance, we’re aiming to show the direct benefits for both residents and city operations,” said Rob Snyder, Local Division Leader for US Motion Services. “It’s a model for what smart city innovation can really look like.”

This project highlights how ABB technology supports safety, sustainability, and operational efficiency—not just in factories, but in the places people live and play. We look forward to expanding this partnership to more community assets in the future.
