When asked about the impact B&R technology has been making on the DAANET business over the years Richard Esmaty, Business Manager for DAANET, Australia and New Zealand said, “B&R's integrated vision and mechatronics systems, like the revolutionary magnetically‑levitated transport system ACOPOS 6D, brings processing, control, and image capture into a single automation solution.  This technology has reduced system complexity for our customers while helping them to increase production throughput.”

Always a partnership with a purpose, DAANET is currently collaborating with B&R to design and supply an ACOPOS 6D system for a large pharmaceutical company.  The project’s goal is to enhance accuracy, increase productivity, ensure product quality, and reduce equipment footprint within their pharmaceutical processing operations.

“Our customers continue to be blown away by the capabilities and opportunities available to them thanks to the ACOPOS 6D. The flexibility and precise control it provides via a rail‑free transport system with six degrees of freedom in product movement is transforming manufacturing.  Gone are the days of rigid, linear conveyor systems as we’re now able to support applications that are adaptive, allowing businesses to produce a variety of products on the same production line enabled by intelligent motion control and vision software.”

Naomi Khoo, B&R Industrial Automation Business Development Manager for Australia & New Zealand said, “We’re incredibly proud of this solution.  The magnetically‑levitated shuttles of ACOPOS 6D float over electromagnetic motor segments, eliminating friction, wear, and tear.  It not only offers pinpoint precision for payloads up to 40kg, but also reduces human handling and generates zero particles  - making it ideal for cleanroom environments where this is paramount. Moreover, having no moving parts and enabling seamless product changes with zero downtime offers a major win for operators.”

Richard shared that DAANET is currently designing what he hopes will be the most advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing line in Australia - featuring ACOPOS 6D, ABB’s Codian Delta Robots, and B&R’s PC-based control and vision systems to guide the robot movements and provide their client with greater flexibility.

As part of the qualification process to become a B&R AVP, DAANET engineers travelled to B&R’s global headquarters in Austria to complete extensive training and certification. The course included both theoretical learning and hands-on lab work.  The engineers are now proficient in core areas such as motion control, programming, HMI and visualisation development, and product application. The team also acquired in-depth knowledge of B&R’s PLCs, operating systems, and diagnostic tools, and is now equipped to fully troubleshoot and deliver expert support to their customers for the turnkey systems they provide.

Naomi said, “I’m truly excited for the future of this partnership.  I’ve worked closely with the DAANET team for many years and have witnessed many of the milestones they’ve achieved by integrating pioneering B&R technology into their customers’ operations.  Their combination of strong after-sales support and local stock availability makes them the perfect holistic automation partner for B&R. I look forward to continuing to support them as they drive greater adoption of advanced automation in Australia’s leading companies, giving them that competitive edge.”

Richard concluded, “This has been a long and comprehensive journey in the making.  The exceedingly positive experience we’ve had partnering with B&R over the years - with the support we’ve received locally and globally - has been exceptional.

The speed and quality of technical support that’s available to us, often when our engineers are on the front line in time-sensitive situations, is a standout. It gives me every confidence that this alliance will only continue to grow stronger.”
