ABB Electrification Smart Power division began its agile transformation journey in 2019, launching the “Smart Transformation” initiative to embed agile principles into its global Smart Power operations. Over the past two years, this effort has accelerated, with more than 1,100 employees now working in over 100 agile teams.

Smart Transformation has led to faster product delivery, improved cross-functional collaboration, and a stronger culture of experimentation and feedback. The company has also invested in agile coaching, leadership development, and digital tools to support its teams and scale agile practices across the division.

The recognition from Scrum.org™ China highlights ABB’s leadership in applying agile at scale within a traditional manufacturing context. The award celebrates the company’s commitment to building a people-first “try” culture, driving measurable business impact, and continuously evolving its ways of working.

As ABB enters its third year of Smart Transformation, the journey continues. Agile is not a destination but a journey—one that empowers teams to stay close to customers, adapt quickly, and shape the future of electrification.
