Zurich, Switzerland, June 30, 2014 - ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has signed a five-year agreement with Shell to become its global single-source supplier of low-voltage switchgear, motor control centers and related services.

The five-year global agreement, with an option for an additional five-year extension, covers the sales, support and service of low-voltage switchgear and motor control centers across both IEC* and NEMA* geographies for green-field and brown-field sites.

*The National Electrical Manufacturers' Association (NEMA) and the International Electro-technical Commission (IEC) are the world's dominant electric motor control standards. NEMA is the US standard; IEC is the international standard.
