- ABB provides energy distribution systems for one of Indonesia’s largest carrier-neutral and AI-ready data center operators.
- Flexible, intelligent power management solutions enhance safety, energy efficiency and operational reliability
- Locally engineered solutions support rapid deployment and national infrastructure growth
Indonesia's data center landscape is undergoing a dramatic transformation. This rapid evolution is fueled by surging demand for cloud services, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. The numbers tell a compelling story. Market research forecasts Indonesia's data center sector will grow at nearly 14% annually. Even more striking, capacity demand is expected to more than double - from 1,400 MW currently to 3,500 MW by 2030 - highlighting the urgency of deploying energy-efficient and sustainable infrastructure.
Meeting this challenge head-on, ABB has successfully delivered a comprehensive suite of energy distribution solutions for one of the country's largest carrier-neutral data center operators. The deployment supports reliable and scalable energy management for their multiple facilities in Greater Jakarta.
The project represents a significant milestone in Indonesia's journey toward becoming a regional digital hub, fully aligned with national priorities such as the Indonesia Digital Roadmap and Making Indonesia 4.0. These initiatives emphasize accelerating digital infrastructure, consolidating national data centers, and promoting sustainable, energy-efficient solutions to support Industry 4.0 and the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision. By combining global expertise with local engineering, ABB is helping operators meet these goals - building a resilient, green, and future-ready digital backbone for the nation.
Supporting the data center facility requires cutting-edge technology. ABB deployed a suite of advanced technologies, including the InSite energy management system, SMISSLINE TP plug-in distribution system, and the locally manufactured System pro E Power Panel Distribution Unit (PDU).

"The collaboration represents a significant milestone in advancing Indonesia's data center infrastructure," said Thian Wai Hiew, Product Marketing Manager, ABB Smart Buildings and Smart Power in Indonesia. "With our locally engineered solutions and a shared dedication to innovation and sustainability, we are enabling a new standard of performance for digital infrastructure in the country."
At the core of the solution is ABB’s System pro E power switchboard, which enables high-capacity distribution in demanding data center environments. Fully compatible with ABB’s low-voltage systems, it meets key international standards and supports scalability, safety, and efficiency.
The InSite system delivers real-time energy and load monitoring, helping the data center enhance energy efficiency, uptime, and predictive maintenance capabilities. Complementing this, the SMISSLINE TP system offers safe, flexible, plug-and-play connectivity for live devices, reducing downtime and the need for additional personal protective equipment (PPE).
As Indonesia's digital economy continues its rapid expansion, infrastructure investments in data centers will prove essential. By combining advanced technology with a commitment to sustainability, the country is positioning itself not just to meet current demand, but to lead the region in next-generation digital infrastructure.
The convergence of local engineering expertise, global technology leadership, and forward-thinking operators is creating a blueprint for how emerging markets can build the foundation for their digital futures - efficiently, sustainably, and at scale.
