For operators demanding a cost-competitive variable-speed solution for vector-duty applications, ABB has launched the ABB Baldor-Reliance V*S Master RS. Its rolled-steel construction delivers dependable durability in a lightweight, economical design, and an advanced insulation system ensures reliable performance across a wide speed range. The result is an affordable, efficient motor platform that bridges performance and value - ideal for customers seeking durability, flexibility and energy savings.
Compact and versatile
Available from ½ to five horsepower, V*S Master RS combines a rugged rolled-steel frame with advanced insulation for 1000:1 constant-torque and full vector-duty performance. Compact and durable, it’s ideal for conveyors, fans, pumps and other variable-speed, constant-torque applications.
Its small, lightweight design allows for installation in tight spaces where typical cast-iron frames won’t fit. One motor can handle a broad range of speeds - eliminating the need for mechanical speed reducers or multiple motor sizes. The high overload torque of V*S Master RS allows for heavy startup loads, jams or sudden load spikes without stalling or tripping the drive - improving uptime and process reliability.
Feature-rich protection
Engineered for long life with Class H insulation, three built-in thermostats for overload protection and internal shaft grounding standard, V*S Master RS provides added reliability and peace of mind. The motor exceeds NEMA MG1 Part 31 requirements for motors operated on pulse width modulation (PWM) inverter drives and eliminates corona discharge, which can greatly shorten the insulation life.
Cost-competitive value
Built on the proven ABB Baldor-Reliance V*S Master platform, the RS Series delivers market-leading motor technology in an economical design - stronger, smarter and cost competitive. Built to pair seamlessly with variable speed drives in applications demanding high performance over wide speed ranges, it provides dynamic response and energy efficiency.
