ABB Electrification's Smart Power division in Malaysia has officially launched the SACE Emax 3 Air Circuit Breaker (ACB) on 28 January 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, marking a significant milestone following its global premiere at the Electrification Channel Partner Event in Kuala Lumpur in July 2025.
The launch event drew approximately 150 industry stakeholders, including distributors, panel builders, consulting engineers, end users, and other key partners, who gathered to witness this landmark introduction and kick off year 2026 with robust energy.
In his opening address, Clemens Stahl, Vice President of Electrification at ABB Malaysia, highlighted the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the data center industry and its resulting surge in electricity demand. "AI requires substantial computing power, and computing power demands electricity. This correlation is driving the exponential expansion we are witnessing in data center infrastructure development," Clemens emphasized.
He further noted that as data center capacity continues to scale, the demand for advanced electrical components and comprehensive electrification solutions grows proportionally. "We have engineered the ideal solution for mission-critical power environments – the SACE Emax 3 Air Circuit Breaker," Clemens stated.
Weber Wang, Global ACB Product Manager at ABB, provided an in-depth technical overview of the SACE Emax 3's advanced capabilities. "Our investment in developing the SACE Emax 3 directly addresses emerging market challenges and opportunities across six critical domains: system integration, power quality, power management, asset management, cybersecurity and expanded protection,” Weber explained.
The SACE Emax 3 distinguishes itself through seamless system integration, industry-leading 0.5% accuracy in electrical parameter measurement, advanced predictive maintenance algorithms, integrated Arc-Flash protection, and notably, certification as the first circuit breaker to meet the IEC 62443-4-2 SL2 cybersecurity standard.
The formal presentation was complemented by several interactive engagement sessions and concluded with a Chinese New Year celebration dinner, acknowledging the approaching festive season.
