Beat rising energy costs and inefficiency at your plant with ABB’s newly qualified Certified Industrial Energy Professional staff

Rising energy costs and supply uncertainty, along with inefficiency in plants and industrial facilities is driving increased demand for improved energy efficiency and decarbonisation. In turn, this is continually driving the need for trained and experienced industrial energy professionals.

That’s why New Zealand’s ABB Motion Service team have invested in upskilling one of their Service Sales Engineers, Avi Kumar, to become a Certified Industrial Energy Professional (CIEP) by the Association of Energy Engineers. This qualification is a globally recognised benchmark for professional competence in the energy sector.

The CIEP certification recognises professionals as having the required knowledge and experience needed to succeed in the growing field of industrial and manufacturing energy efficiency.

Industrial energy professionals ensure that industrial plants and manufacturing facilities are operated and maintained to the highest performance while using the lowest amount of energy possible.

Using proven energy management systems and audit processes, such as ISO50001 and ISO50002, they help identify inefficiencies and define energy strategies for reducing costs. As technical experts, they understand the varied equipment and systems used throughout industry and can leverage this knowledge to improve overall system performance.

Aside from energy audits, the ABB Motion Service team offers drive modernisation services, a fast and effective way to pre-emptively upgrade installed drives with new technology and gain immediate performance improvements to a plant or process at the same time. They also provide lifecycle assessments, tailored service plans, data collection and analysis, preventative maintenance, retrofits, technical support and repairs.

ABB is committed to maintaining high technical standards, continuous improvement, and external validation of its expertise so that it can deliver best practice and operational excellence for its clients.
