From 27 May to 3 June 2026, National Reconciliation Week (NRW) invites Australians to reflect on our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and to consider how we can each contribute to reconciliation in a meaningful way.
At ABB Australia, this week is an important opportunity to reinforce our commitment to reconciliation and to continue building understanding, respect and positive relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Recognising the significance of National Reconciliation Week
National Reconciliation Week is held between two defining milestones in Australia’s history:
- The 1967 Referendum (27 May), when Australians voted to amend the Constitution
- The Mabo High Court decision (3 June), which recognised the land rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
These dates highlight both the progress that has been made and the work that remains to be done.
2026 theme: All In
This year’s theme, All In, is a call for collective action. It reminds us that reconciliation is not a single moment or initiative – rather, it’s an ongoing journey that requires participation, reflection and accountability from all of us.
Whether through learning, listening, or community engagement, every action contributes to strengthening relationships and creating a more inclusive future.
ABB Australia’s approach to reconciliation
ABB Australia is committed to advancing reconciliation in a way that is authentic and aligned with our values.
In 2026, we continue to work closely with YarnnUp, supporting the development of our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and associated initiatives.
Our RAP, formally endorsed by Reconciliation Australia on 27 March 2026, provides a structured framework to guide our ongoing reconciliation journey.
It reflects our intent to:
- Build awareness and understanding across our workforce
- Strengthen relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Support meaningful, long-term progress through engagement and learning
Embedding reconciliation into everyday actions
At ABB Australia, reconciliation is not limited to one week. It is embedded in how we learn, collaborate and engage, both within our organisation and with the communities we work alongside.
National Reconciliation Week provides a moment to pause and reflect, but also to consider how we can carry that momentum forward throughout the year.
Across the business, employees will be taking part in activities that promote awareness, reflection and connection. Whether by attending local events, engaging with educational resources, or sharing perspectives with colleagues.
Looking ahead
As we mark National Reconciliation Week 2026, ABB Australia reaffirms its commitment to contributing to a more inclusive and respectful future.
We’re reminded that reconciliation is a shared responsibility. One that requires ongoing effort, open dialogue and a willingness to learn.
This year’s theme reinforces the message that progress is only made when we are all involved.
Be All In
ABB Australia encourages employees, partners and communities to take part in National Reconciliation Week and to consider how each of us can contribute - today and well into the future.
Because reconciliation is not only something we support. It’s something we actively build. Together.
