- Collaboration adds ABB’s source-to-rack portfolio to innovative AI-powered data center design platform
- Supports global roll out of higher efficiency power architectures for next-generation data centers
ABB and Podium, a cloud platform that uses AI to automate building design, are working together to equip data center design experts with models of the industry’s most advanced power solutions and space-saving architectures. The collaboration will help planners develop feasible, efficient designs for AI-ready data center infrastructure faster.
The world’s data center construction pipeline is experiencing unprecedented growth, with 100 GW of new capacity coming online between 2026 and 2030 (Source: Bloomberg NEF). This estimated $4 trillion AI-driven investment requires reliable, efficient power infrastructure to be delivered at speed. By embedding ABB’s source-to-rack data center portfolio into Podium’s machine-learning engine, the partnership will help compress the feasibility study timeline from weeks to days, critical in enabling operators to secure equipment and to finalize power purchase agreements.
Developers using the platform to design data centers from the ground up will work with realistic power infrastructure models that provide a strong foundation for the detailed engineering phases. By introducing product intelligence at the earliest design stages, Podium brings real technical insights and advances to the commercial decision-making process.

"As AI accelerates data center construction, ABB is investing in digital technology and partnerships that bring our deep domain expertise to support more efficient infrastructure planning and solutions,” said Rajat Bhattacharya, Digital Commerce Leader for ABB’s Electrification Business Area. “Through our collaboration with Podium, we're combining ABB's data center portfolio data with advanced digital intelligence to reshape how infrastructure is planned. By pairing next-generation digital tools with next-generation power solutions, we'll accelerate the adoption of scalable, energy-efficient power systems for tomorrow's AI demands."
“Our collaboration with ABB represents an important step in Podium’s global journey. By bringing supplier intelligence into design phase earlier, we help development teams make more informed, more confident decisions before construction begins,” said Pankaj Srivastava, CEO of Podium. “Through this collaboration with ABB, we are advancing to an earlier collaboration, a more connected digital integration resulting in a smarter approach to construction design.”
As demand for data center capacity grows, grid connection queues are a key friction point. Utility operators require electrical footprint validations before allocating power and operators must evaluate multiple sites and power architectures under tight time constraints. By embedding ABB’s proven data center technologies and high-efficiency power architectures into early analysis, developers can arrive at optimized, buildable solutions faster.
