ABB's long-standing cooperation with PERN, the leader in Polish oil and fuel logistics, was recognized during an annual Partnership 2.0 Forum, highlighting a 15-year relationship built on delivering advisory services on energy efficiency, predictive maintenance and industrial cybersecurity.
ABB was among selected partners to whom PERN expressed special thanks for their long-term cooperation, commitment and joint implementation of projects supporting the development and reliability of Poland’s fuel and oil transport and storage infrastructure.
The recognition was given during the Partnership 2.0 Forum, PERN's initiative which brings together customers, contractors and technology partners in a meaningful collaboration that enables knowledge sharing and optimizes solution development and project implementation.
Maintenance and modernization supporting one of Poland’s most important infrastructure networks
Mateusz Stańczyk, Director of PERN’s Technical Division, explained the importance of strong partnerships when delivering key infrastructure projects: “The Partnership 2.0 Forum is a space for us to have a real dialogue with technology partners. It is thanks to many years of cooperation and sharing of expertise that we can develop effective solutions and successfully implement our projects. This year, we have given special thanks to a selected group of partners who have supported us for years with their knowledge, experience and commitment to joint ventures. ABB is one of PERN's long-standing partners.”
As one of Poland's leading companies in the transport and storage of crude oil and fuels, PERN plays a key role in maintaining the country's energy supply. Its network includes more than 2,500 kilometers of pipelines, 23 storage facilities, an oil terminal and an offshore fuel hub capable of handling up to 40 million tons of crude oil per year.
ABB has supported PERN for over 15 years through a nationwide service agreement covering all PERN facilities in Poland. This partnership combines electrification, automation and measurement technologies with maintenance, retrofit and digital services to improve asset performance and operational resilience.
ABB's support includes inspection, maintenance and modernization programs for PERN’s automation systems, as well as the supply of electrical switchgear and measuring devices for monitoring product and raw material levels. Digital solutions enable remote monitoring and maintenance based on technical condition assessments, helping PERN reduce the risk of unplanned downtime, extend the lifecycle of its equipment and strengthen the cybersecurity of its operations.
15 years of cooperation between ABB and PERN
The recognition by PERN emphasizes the importance of long-term cooperation based on technical dialogue, mutual trust and joint commitment to the successful implementation of projects. In addition to maintenance services, ABB and PERN collaborate on knowledge sharing, technical workshops and long-term planning initiatives covering areas such as energy efficiency, predictive maintenance and industrial cybersecurity.
Marek Świątkowski, Marketing and Sales Director at ABB Poland, said: “Our partnership with PERN shows that in this sector, it is not only the quality of technology that matters, but also the way we manage projects and our daily technical dialogue. Predictability, quick response and a deep understanding of the customer's operating environment are equally important in these projects.”
"For ABB, partnership means presence at every stage, from delivery and commissioning, through to service, joint planning of infrastructure modernization and development," concludes Świątkowski.
