ABB has officially launched ABB Tech Day, an educational programme designed to introduce pupils and students to technical fields, modern technologies and today's industrial environment. The programme will primarily offer free site visits, workshops and expert lectures for primary and secondary schools at ABB's manufacturing and technology sites across the Czech Republic. It is also open to university students.
The first ABB Tech Day event took place at ABB's Brno facility, which manufactures instrument transformers and sensors and is the largest of its kind in the world. The event was held under the auspices of the Regional Chamber of Commerce and the South Moravian Region. It brought together 16 school principals and teachers from 13 schools across two Czech regions, as well as representatives from two Slovak secondary schools. The participants learned about opportunities for cooperation with ABB and the range of activities available to schools throughout the academic year.
We have long recognised that interest in technical fields needs to be fostered much earlier than the point at which young people begin making decisions about their future careers. ABB Tech Day opens the door to the world of modern technologies and shows students just how innovative and full of opportunities today's industry really is. We believe that first-hand experience is the best way to inspire young people to pursue technical careers.

The ABB Tech Day programme will be available at ABB locations in Brno, Blučina, Jablonec nad Nisou and Ostrava. During a one-day visit, pupils and students will take part in tours of manufacturing facilities or laboratories, as well as lectures and workshops. Schools can select and combine activities according to their focus, ensuring that the programme meets the needs of their students' age groups and fields of study. The lectures cover a wide range of topics, from electrification and automation to smart buildings, industrial digitalisation and artificial intelligence.
All programmes will be provided to schools free of charge. Primary schools from Grade 8 onwards, secondary schools and universities are eligible to participate. Schools interested in ABB Tech Day can register via the online registration form.
ABB actively develops relationships with schools across the Czech Republic. In addition to providing material support, the company regularly contributes to teaching through expert lectures and meets students at career fairs. Its aim is to become a natural part of the academic environment and inspire future graduates before they decide where they want to work. This approach is complemented by other initiatives, including the Technological Literacy project, which promotes science and technology among younger generations, and Future Shapers, an initiative supporting children's and young people's interest in technology and modern technologies in South Moravia.
