ABB, a global leader in digital industries, and Mississippi Development Authority today announced that ABB is investing $36m to expand its advanced technology manufacturing operations in Senatobia, MS.
"Since 2010, ABB has invested over $14 billion in the United States, and the US represents the largest market for our products," said Greg Scheu, President of the Americas for ABB. "We will continue to invest in the products we make here and the people who make them, as we expand to meet customer demand.”
ABB, which opened its Senatobia operations in 2016, plans to employ around 350 workers after the expansion. Products manufactured in Senatobia include Emax 2 Breakers, Tmax XT Breakers, TruONE Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) Assemblies and other electrical switches. Nearly 1,400 ABB employees are work throughout Mississippi in four locations – Byhalia, Columbus, Crystal Springs, and Senatobia.
"ABB’s decision to expand in Senatobia just more than two years after opening is a shining example of a public/private partnership benefiting the people of our great state. Mississippians are hard workers, and I know ABB’s new employees will continue the company’s legacy of manufacturing quality, high-tech electrical components,” Governor. Phil Bryant said.
The Mississippi Development Authority is providing assistance for infrastructure and building improvements. The city of Senatobia and Tate County are providing standard property tax exemptions.
