ABB Rogersville plant awarded 2019 Tennessee Governors OSHA Award for Excellence

Rogersville plant wins prestigious safety award for second year in a row

On April 15, 2019, the ABB Rogersville, TN mounted bearing plant was presented the Tennessee OSHA Governors Award for Excellence for the second consecutive year. Tom Carpenter, plant manager, accepted the award on behalf of the Rogersville employees. Only 16 out of 160,000 businesses in Tennessee receive this award annually.

To qualify for this award the facility must:

  • Have gone three (3) years at 60% below the national TRIR (total recordable incident rate) average of 2.8
  • Have worked over 500,000 hours without a restricted duty case

The Rogersville, TN facility has gone over seven (7) years without a lost time accident and has a 12 month rolling TRIR of .38.

Hawkins County Sherriff Ronnie Lawson, Gary Hick, Tennessee State Representative, whose father worked at the plant for nearly 40 years, and David Blessman, Tennessee OSHA representative, each addressed plant employees during the awards ceremony.
