ABB inaugurates first customer experience center for smarter buildings in Beijing

Launch marks milestone for low-voltage factory as it celebrates 25th anniversary

On July 1st, 2019, ABB celebrated the 25th anniversary of ABB LV Installation Materials Co., Ltd. Beijing (ABB LV Beijing), China. Government officials from Investment Promotion Bureau of Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, ABB Group management and more than 150 customers and partners from all over the country were invited to attend the celebration ceremony. As part of the celebration, the new ABB Customer Experience Center for smarter buildings was officially opened, presenting the latest innovations for smart buildings.

The ABB Customer Experience Center in Beijing highlights the possibilities for smarter living and working, contributing to the development of smart cities with infrastructure upgrades, carbon-free transportation and energy savings. In the center, the intelligent building control system, provided by ABB i-bus® KNX, integrates advanced technology solutions such as visual intercom, CCTV, face recognition, fingerprint recognition, proximity sensing and voice control. With this customer experience center ABB China will be able to showcase its ability to deliver innovative, world-class smart building technology to Chinese customers.

Established in 1994 by ABB China and Beijing Jingyi Jingye Electrical Technology Co., Ltd, ABB LV Installation Materials Co., Ltd. Beijing, is now part of the Electrification business of ABB (China) Ltd., and manufactures enclosures, DIN-rail devices, conventional wiring accessories, and intelligent building control products. Behind the company in Beijing is 128 years of ABB experience in electrical engineering and the implementation of advanced pioneering technology, which has helped in the creation of a complete range of high-quality low-voltage products for the Chinese market. These products have found wide application in both rural and urban buildings, industries and utilities.

During the celebration, four new products for smart buildings were specifically highlighted: Caldion®Room Temperature Controller, XuanZhi Air Quality Detector, XuanZhi Flush Mount Wireless Charger and Welcome IP Door Entry System.

The company has had many successes in China: The Great Hall of the People, Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway, HZM bridge, 2022 Winter Olympics stadiums and more than 3,000 key projects and landmarks. In addition, ABB products have been recognized and honored with awards. In 1988, ABB LV Beijing became the sole supplier of miniature circuit breakers for the "one household, one meter" project in Beijing; meanwhile, the company has actively participated in ABB global R&D projects, such as the development of the MCB S200, which was released globally in 2010 and exported to more than 30 countries.
