New technologies and solutions being developed today for the marine industry able to meet business challenges and to provide energy efficiencies, were presented by ABB Marine & Ports, Greece, during its customer event that took place on May 14,2017 at Oenotria Land Costa Lazaridis venue.
Attended by 40 shipping industry executives from various maritime companies, the event brought together representatives from technical and new building departments, along with Technical Managers.
The key focus of this year presentation was on ABB's digital service offering to the marine industry, ABB Ability™. ABB Ability™ brings together all of ABB's digital products and services, each built from a unique combination of sector knowledge, technology leadership and digital expertise, to create real business value for customers.
ABB Collaborative Operations platform, OCTOPUS 8, energy efficient operations and remote diagnostics technologies that preventively and continuously monitor critical equipment onboard of a ship were some of the main topics presented by keynote speaker, Antonis Asimakopoulos, ABB Marine Service Manager of ABB Greece & Cyprus.

Following the presentation, customers attended a guided tour to the wine museum of Oenotrial Land Costas Lazaridis venue, learned about the story and the production process of wine, spirits and vinegar, and had the opportunity to experience a wine tasting. Culinary specialties were served on a lunch buffet before the end of the event.
